The Bachelor of Technology (Electric Vehicle) provides students with an in-depth understanding of, and advanced skills in, a range of automotive systems, with an emphasis on new technologies involved in autonomous, electric and hybrid powered vehicles. Students will be provided with a range of learning modes; such as classroom teaching, online platform and laboratory practices to assist them to successfully complete this course. There are various types of assessment tasks in each of units to ensure the students satisfy the Unit Learning Outcomes as well as Course Learning Outcomes. This Bachelor Course is intended for students who have a passion for the automotive industry and who are seeking opportunities to upgrade their professional knowledge and skills in the area of electric vehicles. The students will acquire a wide range of theoretical knowledge as well as automotive diagnostic and problem-solving techniques using state-of-the-art testing and diagnostic equipment to study and test the mechanical, electrical and electronics systems in vehicles. The course includes a Capstone unit in the second semester of Year 3, being the last semester of this course. In this unit, the students will complete a Capstone project which is partnered with automotive industry experts and stakeholders. The project will be focusing on one specialised automotive area and associated with different aspects of the automotive sector specifically electric vehicles including research and development, testing and experimental works, design, literature surveys and simulation and computation studies.
